Riding in traffic sucks. For one, you’re not experiencing what your bike is truly capable of. But also, you’re clutch hand and forearm are working overtime to keep the bike rolling smoothly between stops. For new riders, the stop and go can be terrifying. Without having it mastered, stalling the bike at a busy intersection is a real fear.
Wouldn’t it be amazing if you could meander through traffic without needing to pull the clutch lever in every time you come to a stop? That dream can be a reality. The EXP 3.0 clutch kit works as a centrifugal clutch, allowing the bike to idle in gear without the clutch being manually activated. Rekluse first developed the technology for Motocross to prevent the bike from stalling if the rider experienced an off. Many of the top racers use the Rekluse technology because it allows them stay in a race, even if they come off the bike. Learning the fine balance of using the friction zone, brake and throttle is an art form, that once mastered, can result in glorious slow riding maneuverability. In fact, there is an art of riding slow in traffic that you can learn about here. But that takes time to master.

With the Rekluse EXP 3.0, the rider can come to a complete stop in gear and then take off again without ever touching the clutch lever. Just simply roll off and on the throttle. Use of the clutch is still fully available and is still needed to shift from gear to gear. If you need to roll the bike backwards, you can still pull the clutch lever in to do so.
Another benefit of the kit is lower operating temperatures. This is a result of not needing to constantly use the clutch through stop and go traffic. Not only will this help prevent your leg frying off, but it will also prolong the life of your clutch.
The EXP 3.0 utilizes Rekluse’s TorqDrive clutch pack, which has a greater torque capacity over the stock clutch pack (up to 20% more capacity). That means, the clutch can transfer power faster and more efficiently. This is important if you want to reap all of the benefits of any power mods that you make to your bike. And it also virtually eliminates clutch fade.
Installation of the EXP 3.0 is no harder than replacing your stock clutch pack. There is no need for modifications or special parts and all of the parts fit into your OEM basket. The craziest tool you need to make the swap is a Torx bit.
