Fall and flannel go together like chrome on a cruiser.  Most guys have their favorite flannel shirt that they are just waiting to bust out once the temps start to drop in the fall.  They look great, feel great, and are timeless.  Flannels have long been a favorite garment for riders, but they just don’t offer the protection that you need if you put the bike down on the pavement.  That’s where the new reinforced flannel shirts come in. Both Scorpion and Speed and Strength have seen the trend of riders hitting the streets in their favorite every day flannels and have reacted.  Both companies have developed reinforced and even armored options over the past few years and this year they have brought their shirts to a whole […]

No one is a perfect rider.  Not you, not me and not even the most elite racers in MotoGP.  But that doesn’t mean that we can’t strive to be as close to perfect as possible.  Focusing on being better can make our rides safer and even more fun. There is an abundance of mistakes that riders can make.  Some of these may lead to the hospital while others may just make your ride less efficient.  Some are bad habits and some are just poor technique.  Fixing them will make you a better rider.  But before any mistake can be fixed, you first need to realize that you are making one. Check out our list to see if you are making these riding mistakes and then let us know […]

It almost hurts to write this, but fall is right around the corner.  The days of comfortable riding temps are numbered for us northern riders as the mercury continues to drop.  But, on the other hand, hopping on your bike in the fall can be some of the best riding with the backroads becoming a collage of reds and oranges.  The trick to really enjoying a fall ride is to stay warm and comfortable as the seasons change. Getting insulated gear is a great start, but sometimes it’s just not enough.  Heated seats are a great way to add some warmth, but they’re not for everyone, especially with the price tags that they can carry.  Plus, not everyone wants to change the seat that they have on […]

With vintage styling being the go-to lately, there has been a huge resurgence of classic, craftsman-style motorcycle gear.  What we’re getting is great looking gear with timeless design, yet with the new construction materials and techniques of the modern era.  It can be argued that we are getting the best of both worlds right now. Alpinestars has looked back into their own storied history for inspiration.  40 years ago, Alpinestars was recognized and awarded in a prestigious fashion competition for their innovative take on motocross boots.  To celebrate their award, Alpinestars created the Oscar line which was emblazoned with the now iconic Oscar spiral logo. A’Stars is once again setting the standard for functional and fashionable gear with their revival of the Oscar lineup.  With everything from jackets […]

Modular motorcycle helmets have gotten a bad rap from many “serious” riders for being cumbersome and clunky, especially when they were first introduced.  Those first options were certainly a no-go for anyone who liked to grab a fist full of throttle on the open highway.  The chin bar would whistle and the overall large profile would cause your head to buffet like crazy.  Not ideal. But modular helmets have come a long ways since they first showed up and they are still getting better.  Quite often the prices get higher when things get better and the premium options that are available now may break the bank for some.  Not everyone can drop 5-600 hard-earned dollars on a helmet.  Scorpion is hoping to change that with their entry into the […]
