Arctic Cat Celebrates its 1,000,000th Snowmobile Build

With tree leaves on the brink of changing color, we are all in anticipation of what this winter season will bring for snowmobilers. Arctic Cat have something special to celebrate as they pass the time waiting for the snow to hit the ground. That is, they will mark their one millionth snowmobile built since the company was revived in 1983, with the 2011 Crossfire 800. For those bikers looking to add the finishing touch to their exhaust system, this might be the ticket! Freedom exhausts have just released a new line of end caps for their upswept exhaust systems. Who the Heck is Dennis Kirk? A Little History Behind the Name…

There’s been much speculation recently on our social networks as to the origins of Dennis Kirk (the company) and who was/is Dennis Kirk. Here’s a quick rundown to set the record straight… Dennis (Kirk) Frandsen founded the company back in 1969. It began as “All American”, soon changing its name to Dennis Kirk to be more personable. The store began as a small shop in rural Rush City, Minnesota, selling Snowmobile parts. It quickly became an “on the way up north” stop for in and out-of-staters to get their machines ready for riding. I have just returned from the 2010 Black Hills Rally. Generally speaking the story of the 2010 Sturgis motorcycle rally was attendance. It was way up! It was easy to see and feel that attendance was on par with the rallies of 5 or so years ago which were the biggest of all time. It was good to see. The hotels were all booked full. The Buffalo Chip Campground reported 2 to 3 times the number of campers this year compared to last year. The Broken Spoke Campground came into its own after opening three years ago.
