As an ADV rider, you have an inherent drive to explore and find new routes to ride on. Sometimes, though, it can be a bit of a struggle to find those new riding destinations.  If you are looking for new coordinates to punch into your GPS, geocaching may be the answer. The activity of geocaching is a natural fit for ADV/Dual Sport riders.  Both activities involve exploring and require a love for adventure.  Combining the two can open up many new riding destinations and will give you something to do once you reach them. What is Geocaching? Geocaching is basically a modern day “treasure hunt” guided by GPS coordinates that are posted online.  Caches are placed all around the world and are of all shapes and sizes of […]

We’ve come a long way in video technology over the past decade.  We’ve gone from making our own contraptions for mounting handhelds to our bikes and ourselves to having cinema quality digital video cameras that are smaller than a deck of cards that can be mounted to just about anything.  The rise in popularity of the action camera can really be pinpointed to the genius marketing of the GoPro.  But that rise in popularity and growing interest in capturing our lives in HD has also opened the door for new competitors.  There now are action cam options for everyone, with each offering something different.  GoPro has become the name synonymous with action cams, but that could certainly change with these new competitors nipping at their heels. For many, the ride ends when the sun goes down.  But if you are one of those riders who just can’t get enough, there is a way that you can see better and go all night.  The recent advancements in LED technology have made their way into the off road world and have completely changed the game.  These lights are extremely durable and can hold up to the abuse that off road riding can dish out.  Plus, they are extremely bright and far reaching.  You can hit the throttle confidently because you can clearly see all of the obstacles in your path when you have your machine fully rigged. Your stock lights do a decent job, but they are not really meant for performance riding at night.  […]

Motorcycle designers spend countless hours trying to create those perfectly sleek lines on a bike.  But then they are often forced to finish them off with buggy turn signals.  Some get it right, but more often than not, the turn signals just don’t flow with the design.  They become an afterthought and end up distracting your eyes when looking at the bike. Fortunately, there is a solution that just happens to be an incredibly easy fix.  Integrated turn signals eliminate the bugginess and the interruption of the streamlined design.  For the rear, the turn signals are combined with the taillight to create one compact system.  Up front, they are integrated into the mirrors. Integrated turn signals are not for everyone, though.  Before you even look at the […]

More than in any other segment of motorcycling, riders in the ADV/Dual Sport world look forward to the release of the latest and greatest products.  Though this segment has been around since the dawn of motorcycles, ADV riding has seen a huge boom in popularity over the past few years and with it has come a slew of new bikes and products to fit them. Tires are no exception and every year we are seeing more and more tire options available specifically for the new dual sport bikes.  In the beginning, riders had to choose between a street tire and an off road tire.  Now, we are seeing tires tailored to dual sport riding and even tailored to the percentage of street vs. off road riding that you do.
